On behalf of The Meeko Family ... I, Joe's sister Diane, my son Zak, and my Mom Mary ... would like to FIRST thank Bobby & Val Barker for being the great friends they were to my Brother. The Barker's accepted the gift of Joe's POWER GRIPS business from him, agreeing to fully take it over, due to his failing health. Upon Joe's untimely, tragic death on December 8, 2009, and out of the true goodness of their hearts, the Barker's felt it necessary to give the business BACK to our Family ... where it all started. My Dad & Joey started POWER GRIPS nearly 30 years ago ... IN OUR BASEMENT! This product has survived a long time, & that's simply because Joe invented & patented weighlifting aid that is AWESOME! Power Grips were invented and patented by Joe Meeko over 25 years ago and any similar products you see in the marketplace are inferior copies.
With a reverse grip design, the grip self tightens as weight is applied and
supports the wrist during the exercise.
Power Grips used to be available in "one size fits all" many years ago, however we went back to the original design and improved it’s strength and longevity. A velcro strap, often seen on poor imitations, will easily wear out and not "hold" after repeated tear offs. Power Grips offer a personal fit to optimize it’s performance.
Power Grips never wear out or have problems with how they're fastened. Power Grips are coated with high-tech slip-free rubber polymer - copies are NOT coated with any rubber so they slide all over the place.
Power Grips also have a slight "bendabilty" to the metal grip so when you use them they actually flex and squeeze the bar. The "bendability" design feature also allows you to bend Power Grips slightly to adapt to different size bars.Imitations do not include this feature and just provide very thick, rigid metal - so this "flex" and "squeeze" effect cannot be achieved.
